Through the use of devices that detect the relative humidity and temperature inside the churches, and buildings subject to intervention, we carry out a (monthly, half-yearly, annual, etc.) monitoring in order to identify the microclimatic conditions and relate them to preventive measures to make improvements where the values are harmful for the conservation of the premises and / or works-of-art present inside the buildings.

Shooting under ultraviolet light
The use of ultraviolet (UV) rays allows us to identify the drafting of the protective varnish and monitor the correct execution of cleanings. In some cases, it allows us to see the repaintings superimposed on the original surface.

They are non-invasive investigation tools capable of highlighting areas of walls with humidity problems, identifying possible sources of emission, water and / or heat. To carry out this investigation, a thermal imaging camera and attendance to a training course with issued licence, which is possessed by the company, are required.

Normally, we also take care of monitoring the structural openings on the walls expressed by cracks or lacerations by means of linear or angular detection devices. With these procedures, any masonry movements occur. With this information we can contribute to solve the problem or to give preparatory indications to stop these phenomena.

Physical and chemical analysis of the works
They are part of the fact-finding investigations. Chemical analyses allow us to identify the compositional materials, its alterations over time and the addition of new overlapping materials.

Our company makes use of these non-invasive analyses especially in the Turin laboratory, performed on paintings, tables and wooden sculptures. With these investigations we can detect the presence of hidden images and regrets. In paintings on wood and wooden sculptures they allow us to study the morphology, the construction technique used and the presence of possible subsequent interventions.
